June 29, 2021: The Ontario government is investing $7.7 million in language and skills training supports to help 2,700 newcomers impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic start new jobs. Language Training
Occupation-specific Language Training
Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) sponsors free occupation-specific language skills training for foreign-educated occupational therapists. The courses are delivered in a variety of formats in Ontario colleges. Participants will develop communication skills for working effectively on inter-professional health care teams.

Immigration
Temporary Resident to Permanent Resident Pathway: Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada
Foreign nationals in Canada could qualify to become permanent residents faster, through the new Temporary Resident to Permanent Resident Pathway program.
- 20,000 applications for temporary foreign workers in health care will be accepted.
- To qualify, candidates must submit their application before November 5, 2021, or until the maximum numbers of applications is received, whichever comes first.
